St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Latvian Church in Toronto, Canada is searching for a full time lead pastor, fluent in Latvian and English, to lead the spiritual life of our congregation. The successful candidate is expected to be an experienced congregational leader who is tasked with caring not only for active parishioners, but also the infirm, elderly, and youth. Toronto’s reputation as one of the world’s most multicultural communities is indicative of the need of the successful candidate to embrace ecumenical work as well as the challenges of our own congregation. A post graduate degree in Theology would be an asset.

St. John’s has 765 members (200+ over the age of 80). The congregation owns its church property as well as ,,Saulaine”, a rural retreat 100 km north of the city. As of 2015, St. John’s now shares its premises with St. Andrew’s Ev. Lutheran Latvian congregation – ,,two congregations under one roof”.
