Peace Latvian Lutheran gives people of Latvian heritage and their families the opportunity to worship and serve in the Latvian language and traditions. The parish is an active community of some 110 members, between whom exist strong bonds of fellowship.
As well as being the spiritual home for ev. lutheran Latvians, Peace Latvian is a focal point for Latvian society in Ottawa. Providing the facilities of church and hall, and working with other Latvian organizations, the parish plays a significant part in upholding Latvian culture and customs in Ottawa.
Mandatory qualifications for pastor candidates are: a master’s degree in theology, proven experience in parish leadership, and fluency in Latvian and English.
